In the recent week, a substantial portion of the United States has been gripped by winter storms. While the frigid conditions pose hazards on the roads, the snowy terrain offers an opportunity for honing car control skills and enjoying some controlled sideways maneuvers. Embracing this spirit, Genesis has unveiled images of the X Snow Speedium, a winterized rendition of its sleek 2022 concept, designed to navigate the wintry landscapes safely.
Details about the X Snow Speedium concept remain somewhat scarce, but the released images are undeniably striking. The vehicle is a derivative of the X Speedium Coupe concept, which followed the original 2021 X concept, and later transformed into a convertible for the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Snow edition features a slim roof rack equipped with integrated LED lights on both the front and rear ends. According to Genesis, the skis were specially crafted by Swiss ski manufacturer Anavon Ski AG to seamlessly complement the car. Additionally, the front bumper integrates fog lamps within its intakes, and the wheels showcase a more straightforward five-spoke design than the original concept. Notably, the images depict the X Snow Speedium navigating snow-covered roads in Davos, Switzerland, although it appears these visuals are digitally rendered rather than authentic photographs.
While Genesis has officially stated that the trio of X concepts serves as a preview of the brand’s future design language and are not slated for production, rumors persist regarding the electric coupe’s potential arrival in showrooms as a flagship model. Reports suggest that Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke may have already informed dealers about the convertible’s impending release, though confirmation of this speculation may take a few more years to materialize.
