In the gaming era of 2013, marked by Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop” and the Obama presidency. Gran Turismo introduced virtual supercars crafted by real automakers. Continuing the Vision Gran Turismo series, two latest additions have been unveiled: the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta and an unexpected entry from luxury fashion house Bulgari. Named the Bvlgari Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo.
Genesis X Gran Berlinetta: A Streamlined Marvel
The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta showcases a sleek design, reminiscent of the striking Essentia concept from 2018. With a low, wide stance and the latest “two lines” lighting motif, this supercar exudes sophistication. Aerodynamic slashes and scoops adorn the body. leading to wraparound taillights and a distinctive rear fascia with a squat rear wing. Featuring a drag coefficient of 0.34, the X Gran Berlinetta embodies elegance.
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist approach with a dashboard-spanning screen and knurled metal-finished dials. The yolk-style steering wheel integrates a secondary screen and controls for traction and ABS settings. Adorned in quilted leather, the door panels and center console add a luxurious touch. Surprisingly, despite its 2023 reveal, the X Gran Berlinetta relies on a front-mid-mounted V-6 from Hyundai’s Lambda engine family, paired with a hybrid system, generating a robust 1071 horsepower.
Bvlgari Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo: Luxury Meets Performance
In a surprising move, luxury fashion brand Bulgari enters the automotive world with the Bulgari Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo. The design, inspired by Bulgari Aluminium watches from 1998. Features a bold, wedge-like speedster body reminiscent of 1970s concepts. Crisp creases and simple shapes create an assertive aesthetic, complemented by LED strips, blocky aerodynamic wheel covers, and a brushed aluminum finish.
While performance details are undisclosed, the Bulgari concept, developed in collaboration with design experts Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani and Fabio Filippini, exudes a retro-futuristic vibe. Yellow accents on bucket seats and dials add a touch of vibrancy. The Bulgari Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo is poised to join Gran Turismo 7’s lineup in 2024, marking a unique entry as the first Vision Gran Turismo from a non-automotive entity.
