2024 Acura TLX: Elegant Return and Streamlined Model Range

Acura has unveiled the updated 2024 TLX with a starting price of $46,195 for the front-wheel-drive TLX featuring the Technology package. While this marks an increase from the previous base model, it’s only $950 more than the equivalent 2023 TLX Technology. The A-Spec, now priced at $51,195, includes standard SH-AWD, and the performance-focused Type S is priced at $58,195.

The second-generation TLX receives a subtle redesign, maintaining its elegant exterior design and well-equipped interior. The 2024 models feature new frameless grilles, additional color options, and a streamlined model lineup to simplify choices for customers.

In response to customer feedback, Acura has simplified the TLX lineup for 2024. The Technology package is now standard and available only with front-wheel drive. A-Spec and Type S models complete the offerings, both featuring all-wheel drive.

The redesigned grilles showcase a wider diamond mesh pattern for the base and A-Spec TLX, while the Type S gets a tighter pattern, all in gloss black. Behind the Acura logo, a new radar is now included. The Type S comes with a full surround camera, and both models feature distinctive wheel designs.

A-Spec receives a new diffuser and round exhaust tips, while the Type S remains unchanged but offers a carbon-fiber option for the spoiler. Two new paint colors, Urban Gray Pearl and Liquid Carbon Metallic, add fresh choices to the TLX lineup.

Under the hood, performance remains consistent across TLX models. The Technology and A-Spec house the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from 2023. The Type S maintains its turbo 3.0-liter V-6 with performance tweaks for quicker throttle response. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the cabin, the TLX boasts a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and center screen, a 20% increase from 2023, with improved responsiveness. Standard features include phone connectivity, Amazon Alexa Built-In, and charging ports for rear-seat passengers. A wireless charging pad is now standard on all models.

Acura plans to make the 2024 TLX available at dealerships in late November, offering a glamorous alternative to traditional German sporty sedans.
